Timeline

March through July 2014

Advertising for grant programs in two areas: integrated science and philosophy of self-control ($2.5 million) and philosophy of self-control, round 1 ($400,000).

A one-year post-doctoral position in the FSU Philosophy Department for a philosopher with a special interest in self-control is advertised, and this position is filled for the 2014-15 academic year.

September 2014

Advertising for cluster group grants ($5000 each).

July 2014 through February 2015

Letters of intent and full proposals received and evaluated; awards announced.

1. Philosophy of self-control.  See “Grants” section.  Awards will typically be used to support sabbaticals and other research leaves.

Two rounds of funding will be offered. Advertising for round 1 begins on April 1, 2014.  Letters of intent (due 9-1-2014) are solicited. Judges determine which applicants are invited to submit full proposals. Invitations are issued by October 15. Full proposals are due by January 15, 2015. Final decisions will be issued by February 28, 2015. Awards begin between July 1 and August 15, 2015.

Full proposals are due by December 15. Final decisions will be issued by February 28, 2015 for research to begin no later than August 1, 2015.

December 2015

Research conference 1 will be held December 4-6, 2015.
